Netflix’s Resident Evil Series Release Date Revealed

Netflix’s Resident Evil series finally got a release date, and we don’t have long to wait. This production by Constantin Film will center around Albert Wesker’s daughters, Jade and Billie, and will be split over two timelines. The sisters are 14 and have just moved to New Raccoon City in one of them. In the other, it’s over a decade in the future, and 15 million people remain after a major T-Virus outbreak.

When will Netflix’s Resident Evil series debut?

The release date for the Netflix Resident Evil series is July 14, 2022. The official synopsis for the show is:

“Year 2036 – 14 years after a deadly virus caused a global apocalypse, Jade Wesker fights for survival in a world overrun by the blood-thirsty infected and insane creatures. In this absolute carnage, Jade is haunted by her past di lei in New Raccoon City, by her father’s chilling connections to the Umbrella Corporation but mostly by what happened to her sister di lei, Billie. “

The first season will consist of eight episodes, and there’s no word yet as to whether there’ll be a second season. Netflix has a history of canceling shows that aren’t immediate hits, so if the audience reaction to it isn’t great, then don’t expect to see it return.

Opinion: This show sounds like a fanfic

Jason writes: I’m absolutely astounded that Constantin Films has had two decades to nail down Resident Evil and hasn’t managed to get it right yet. A story about Albert Wesker’s daughters sounds like something from a self-insertion fanfic and completely ignores the fact Wesker died in Resident Evil 5, which was set in 2009. It took years to finally get a Resident Evil TV show made and this is the best they could come up with? Why even use the Resident Evil name if you’re just going to ignore all the canon from the games? The only things this show sounds like it has in common with the franchise is some names they’ve pulled and zombies. Please, Capcom, let someone else give it a shot.
