Speaking about the building work, Sam said it has been his ‘biggest stress’ over the past year but added that he has ‘loved’ it all the same.

He told The Sun: ‘Genuinely, I walk around the gaff and I have impostor syndrome, like,’ Oh my god, I can’t believe I live here ‘.’

The couple had to move out of their ‘forever’ home while construction was underway and Sam admitted that he ‘cried’ when they first moved back into the house.

Their stunning home boasts an open plan kitchen and diner area downstairs with modern glass paneling, while they have huge sliding doors opening out on to their garden.

‘I feel this is a home I can live in, I can maybe bring up kids one day. I feel very proud of it, ‘he added.

Sam admitted that he is trying to work towards providing a good home for his children, planning ‘three or four’ steps ahead as he does not yet have any children.

In September, Sam revealed that he wanted a baby with his girlfriend in the near future, saying didn’t want to be a ‘really old dad’ so wasn’t far off starting a family.

Last June, the couple announced that they were moving in with Sam’s mother Karen as they had modifications done at their plush London pad.

At the time, he said: ‘It’s a huge day. We’re moving out. Terrified. Absolutely terrified.

‘We are extending the kitchen and the whole ground floor basically so we are being turfed out and we’re going to move in with mum and Louise and Ryan who are also living with mum.

‘So it’s going to be a hectic couple of weeks.’

Sam and Zara first began dating in 2019 after Zara ‘slid into his DMs’ and quickly become inseparable.

However, the pair were plagued by scandal when it emerged in August 2020 that Zara had cheated on Sam with a music producer the year before while competing on Celebrity X Factor.

Despite their very public fall out, the couple reconciled in November, and began living together before the first lockdown.

Their sleek London home lies next to Sam’s sister Louise, who has recently given birth to her son Leo, who she shares with her fiancé Ryan Libbey.

Louise has opened up about her battle with PTSD and post-natal anxiety after nearly dying and spending five weeks in hospital following ‘serious complications’ after giving birth.

The TV personality, 31, recently revealed that her ‘pre-pregnancy fitness levels’ were vital in her surviving the birth of her son Leo last year.

She has shared a candid insight into her recovery as she admitted that she assumed she would be able to return to work a few days after giving birth, whereas the reality has been quite different.

Taking to Instagram on the Instagram page for her fitness project Trtle, she revealed that she was told by a consultant that her fitness levels were a key factor in surviving giving birth.

Alongside clips showing her fitness journey, she penned: ‘I was also told by one of the consultants that saved my life that my pre pregnancy fitness levels are one of the few reasons that I survived. But I’ll write more about that on my personal page soon. ‘

The TV personality said she hasn’t wanted to post on Instagram amid her battle with post-natal anxiety as she doesn’t want to be reminded of ‘everything horrendous that happened to me’.

Louise has previously stated that her ‘road to recovery won’t be linear’ as she continues to battle the PTSD and anxiety.
