Nottingham jobs fair offering more than 1,500 vacancies with training and advice

A jobs fair in Nottingham city center will have more than 50 local employers offering more than 1,500 vacancies. The first big jobs fair since the Covid pandemic will be held in Old Market Square on Monday (March 28), where training and employment support will be offered, too.

Employers from retail, public transport, healthcare, emergency services, hospitality, local government, and marketing will all be there. It’s open to all ages between 10am and 2pm, and visitors will be able to apply for jobs there and then.

People can also get help with job searches, CV writing and completing job applications with recruiting companies. There is no need to book in advance. Nottingham City Council is running the event.

Labor councilor David Mellen, leader of the local authority, said: “Nottingham continues to bounce back after the pandemic but we know that many people will have faced uncertain and challenging times and will be seeking support to help them find work to support themselves and their that’s why we’re proud to announce the return of this popular jobs fair, which comes at the perfect time to provide local people with a wide range of job opportunities from some of Nottingham’s most well-known employers.

“Our message to job seekers is that the local jobs market is recovering well, employment rates in Nottingham continue to fall, and there are a wide range of job opportunities available for local people.” Those planning to attend are advised to dress smart, ask plenty of questions and remember that everyone at the fair was once a job seeker.
