Chinese takeaways in Hull ranked by their food hygiene scores

When we fancy a takeaway many of us will head straight for a Chinese, which is sometimes the only food that will hit the spot.

But while you mainly think of the taste and convenience, it is worth knowing how clean these takeaways are. Food hygiene scores are officially handed out by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) and updated on its website every time a new inspection by councils is conducted.

Outlets are judged on a number of factors including food handling, cleanliness and condition of the building and management records. Establishments are scored between zero and five, with “zero” meaning urgent improvements are needed.

The Food Hygiene Rating Scheme helps you choose where to eat out or shop for food by showing how seriously the business takes their food hygiene standards. So when you tuck pin to your chicken noodles or egg fried rice, be safe in the knowledge the food is safe as well as tasty.

Thankfully, most have a top score of five and there are no zero-rated outlets. However, there are a couple with a rating of just one and another that needs to improve with a score of two.
